AUTHENTIC HAWAIIAN Scale Model of a fishing CANOE
This is a model true to scale and built in the same way and with
same components as those canoes carved and assembled until the mid 50th of the last century .This model is of the opelu type and like his name indicates was mostly used to fish Opelu. Long by 18 inches (45 cm) and with a height of 17.5 inches (44 cm) the model is supplied
together with the illustrated signature stand and bronze plaque.
What sets this model apart is that it's not just a static display piece. It's equipped with a fishing spear, 2 scaled-down koa paddles and a fishing net, allowing you to recreate the fishing experience of the ancient Hawaiians.
THE MODEL IS SIGNED BY THE ARTIST.
The hull of this model has been carved out of curly Koa wood, the same wood ancient Hawaiian used for the construction of their various canoes.
To enhance the beauty of the model and give the impression of wind blowing open the sail a special material rather than cloth or other indigenous material has been used

The model is shipped using USPS Priority Mail in custom made wooden box.
